The next workshop is led by J. Michael Lennon May 31 through June 6; he will teach the writing techniques of the new journalism. Through structured exercises and discussion, the class will explore character depiction, the first-person voice and social realities. Lennon has edited several books, one of which was “Norman Mailer’s The Spooky Art: Thoughts on Writing.” He is the current president of The Norman Mailer Society and is writing the authorized biography of Mailer.
