Dear Mailerians!
Here we are entering the 8th year of The Norman Mailer Society. We proudly celebrate the success of seven outstanding conferences and three stellar issues of The Mailer Review. We could not have accomplished this without your support and the guidance of the Executive Board of The Norman Mailer Society. It is with enthusiasm and eagerness that we look forward to the coming year.
This email officially kicks off the 2010 NMS Membership Drive. Membership runs from January 1 to December 31. Membership dues are as follows:

  • Student ($10)
  • Individual ($30)
  • Couple ($35)
  • Individual LIFE ($300)

You can also make payment through PAYPAL at A copy of the Fourth Issue of The Mailer Review comes with your membership. Anticipated publication is October 2010. This issue promises to continue the standard of excellence achieved in the first three volumes.
Current Individual LIFE members do not have to complete a Membership Dues Form. A list of current Individual LIFE Members is enclosed.

We are excited to announce that the 2010 Norman Mailer Society Conference will be held at the University of South Florida Sarasota Campus on November 4, 5 and 6 (you are encouraged to arrive on Wednesday, November 3). The theme of the Conference is “Mailer and Hemingway.” Lodging will be at the Hilton Gardens. Rooms can be reserved for $87 / night and will include a cooked-to-order breakfast. Please call Hilton Gardens directly at 941.552.1100 to reserve a room. Be sure to mention The Norman Mailer Society to obtain the conference rate. Register early!
