In 1968 as a 19 year old college student I came down to New York from Canada hoping to get work in the film business for the summer. By luck I connected to Leacock-Pennebaker and ended up working on the production crew during the filming of Maidstone. I took several photos, most of Norman Mailer on set.
I had a 120 medium format camera that I was able to have with me at times. Unfortunately, like a lot of people in those days, I shot slides. If I’d shot negative, especially if is had been black and white the resolution would be much greater.

The shot with Mailer and the bull horn talking to a group of people seated, as I recall, was taken at the beginning just before all those present had to draw from a hat to see if they were assassins or not.

The final two shots were two I took at Hilltop Acres Hotel where actors and crew were staying. Thought they might possibly be of some interest as well. (The people you see on the deck were hotel guests who had nothing to do with the film.)

Thanks for sharing your excellent images, John!
