Gerald Lucas presided. Board members Nicole DePolo, Bonnie Culver, Salvatore Fallica, John Buffalo Mailer, Mashey Bernstein, Enid Stubin, Matthew Hinton, Phil Bufithis, Gerald Lucas, Michael Lennon, Maggie McKinley, and Marc Triplett were in attendance.
AGENDA ITEMS AND ACTION
- Replacement of Phil Sipiora as editor of The Mailer Review.
Phil Sipiora is resigning as editor of and the Society needs a new editor who is comfortable with both traditional publication and possibilities for digital publication in the future. All agreed that Gerald Lucas is the natural choice. Jerry indicated he would more comfortable in the position if he did not continue as President of the Society.
Gerald Lucas announced he would resign as president to take on job as editor of Mailer Review.
Mike Lennon praised Phil Sipiora for 15 wonderful years of service as editor of The Mailer Review. Phil was praised for his skill at getting material for the Review. John Buffalo Mailer suggested and led a discussion about inclusion in future volumes of previously unpublished letters of Mailer.
- New President.
Matthew Hinton, Treasurer, indicated he would be willing to become the new president of the Board and will resign as treasurer.
- Treasurer.
After discussion, Robert Lurie, new member of the Board, expressed his willingness to become treasurer of the Board.
- 2026 conference.
After discussion, the Board decided to meet for the 2026 conference at Sirata Beach Hotel in St. Pete’s Beach, Florida, at a time to be scheduled. Potential keynote speakers were discussed.
The Board, upon nominations duly made, unanimously approved the elections of Matthew Hinton as President, Gerald Lucas as Editor of the Mailer Review, and Robert Lurie as Treasurer, all effective January 1, 2026.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned.
