Greetings, members of the Norman Mailer Society!

Our 23rd annual conference returns to the Sirata Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach, Florida, November 4–7, 2026. We’ll open Wednesday evening with a cocktail meet-and-greet, then spend three full days on panels, papers, and the kind of unhurried conversation the beach makes possible.

This year’s theme is “Mailer at the Bicentennial” — Mailer in 1976, between The Fight and The Executioner’s Song, working out the mode that would carry him through the rest of the decade.

Proposals are due August 1, 2026. Send a 250-word abstract, short bio, affiliation, and any A/V needs to Conference Chair Enid Stubin at [email protected]. Any session format welcome — papers, panels, roundtables, readings, pedagogy. The full call, fees, registration links, and hotel booking info are on the conference page:

That page is the official source — please check it for the latest information. The hotel block ($219/night) is open now, and the cutoff for the group rate is October 7, 2026, so book early.

More to follow in the coming months, including keynote and program details.

See you on the beach!
