Susan Mailer, standing next to the entrance to 11 Rue Brea in Paris, near the Boulevard Montparnasse, where her parents, Norman and Beatrice, lived from the fall of 1947 until the early summer of 1948. As veterans, they both received GI Bill stipends and completed the Course de Civilisation Francaise at the Sorbonne.
